Arsys Bourgogne A professional choir,Arsys Bourgogne first appeared on the French musical scene in October 1999 under the aegis of the Bourgogne Region and the Ministry of Culture. The original project developed by its conductor Pierre Cao is to promote five centuries-worth of vocal repertoire. Arsys ’ forces vary between four and 32, and the tremendous professionalism demanded of its singers enables the ensemble to move easily from Baroque music to the Classical, Romantic or even contemporary repertoire. Just like its singers, Arsys Bourgogne is deeply concerned with vocal timbre. A unique, homogeneous and pure sound, tirelessly and patiently honed by Pierre Cao, the Luxemburg-born conductor whose respect for the text is recognised throughout the musical world. Pierre CAO« An unrivalled and deeply human European musician who follows his musical path from Burgundy to Catalonia, sharing his knowledge along the way. » Trained as an orchestral conductor… Originally from Luxemburg, Pierre Cao studied composition and conducting at the Royal Brussels Conservatoire, winning, among other awards, the diplôme supérieur in orchestral conducting. …but conducting singers from the age of 18 Always fascinated by vocal music, he was only 18 years old when he first conducted a choir – the Chorale populaire des ouvriers de Dudelange. |
